GRAZING NATURALLY - GRAZING PLANNING WORKSHOPS

These workshops are seasonally specific so there are 2 options:
Growing season – Specifically orientated to wet / growing feed situations
Non-Growing season – Specifically orientated to dry season and drought reserve planning
Both options are 2 Days of Training with 2 Facilitators

Day 1: Basics

  • Doing stock flows and using stock units
  • Working out stocking rate and feed demand
  • How to run stock for best outcomes in the growing season
  • How to run stock for the best outcomes in the non-growing season
  • How to work out carrying capacity and monitor it as it changes
  • Practical grazing assessment in the paddock
  • Matching stocking rate to carrying capacity
  • Practical steps and methods for planning grazing

Day 2: Practical implementation using spreadsheets and or the MaiaGrazing program

  • Practical - grazing planning session using participants own scenarios
  • Practical - stock flows and using stock units
  • Practical - working out stocking rate and feed demand
  • Practical - growing / wet season planning
  • Practical - non-growing / dry season planning
  • Calculating carrying capacity and methods to keep abreast of changes
  • Matching stocking rate to carrying capacity
  • Drought planning

  • Ecological, animal and pasture performance appraisal in the paddock
  • Does not include the Maia grazing platform
  • Additional on-site days can be added on where necessary for larger businesses
  • Cost $3,080 Incl GST per annum

  • One on One practical grazing implementation support
  • Planned monthly telephone support sessions
  • 2 x 1 day on-site visits by a Grazing Naturally Consultant around the main seasonal breaks
  • Ecological, animal and pasture performance appraisal in the paddock
  • Ecological community and pasture performance appraisal in the paddock
  • Using the Maia grazing platform (included) for implementation and records
  • Additional on-site days can be added where necessary for larger businesses
  • Cost $6,600 Incl GST per annum
  • Cost $990 Incl GST for additional on-site days

  • One on One practical grazing implementation support
  • Planned fortnightly telephone support sessions
  • Dedicated grazing coach available for support as part of the management team
  • 2 x 1 day on-site visits by a Grazing Naturally Consultant around the main seasonal breaks
  • Ecological, animal and pasture performance appraisal in the paddock
  • Using the Maia grazing platform (included) for implementation and record keeping
  • Creating grazing plans together as a team for each season
  • Revisiting and making adjustments to plans as a team every time conditions change
  • Addressing practical issues around grazing planning implementation
  • Additional on-site days can be added where necessary for larger businesses
